Fans First Presale FAQ
Who on my team should be submitting requests?
All submissions for your agency should be routed through one single tour marketing representative. Multiple tour marketers may submit requests only if one unified email address or alias for the company is also provided (example:. spotifyfansfirst@bookingagency.com). This is the contact we will use when updating you on the status of your request. Requests should not be submitted by individual agents.
If the artist is represented by multiple agencies across territories, the request should be submitted by the agency who represents the artist in the territory where the tour is taking place. If multiple agencies require visibility on the campaign(s), the submitter can include additional contacts in the 'Contacts for asset delivery' field on the submission form.
Where should I submit requests?
For artists with booking agencies based in active markets (United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Spain, Italy), requests should be routed through this form.
For artists with booking agencies based elsewhere, requests should be routed through an artist's label or distributor to their local Artist & Label Partnerships representative.
Tours with multiple legs must be separated by territory (for example, the North American, European, and Australian legs of one tour should be three separate submissions). Note: Requests should NOT be submitted via email directly to Spotify employees.
What kind of presales are eligible for Fans First?
Presale requests must fit the following criteria in order to be eligible for a Fans First campaign:
- We require a minimum turnaround time of 10 days from your submission to your target presale date in order for a request to be eligible for review. Requests can be submitted up to three months in advance.
- The artist has a minimum of 250K monthly listeners on platform in relevant tour markets.
- Category exclusivity: ours is the only DSP presale being run for the designated tour cycle.
- Our presale must not be preceded by more than 3 other presales. However, ours can run concurrently with other presales so long as the above applies.
- We have a minimum presale window of 12 hours.
- Post-campaign, we require the recorded number of tickets sold during the Spotify presale be reported back to Spotify.
Are there any event types that would not qualify for the program?
The Fans First presale program criteria excludes the following use cases:
- Submissions with 3 or fewer events
- Festivals
- Audiobook, Podcast, or Comedy tours
Can I submit a request for a co-headlining tour?
Co-headlining presale requests are welcome and a great way to hit the combined audiences of both artists.
Can I include supporting acts in the audience targeting?
No, artist targeting for supporting acts at any level is not supported as part of a Fans First presale offer.
When will I know if my submission has been approved?
The request form is reviewed daily, and you will be notified within 2 business days if your request has been accepted or declined. The Fans First team may reach out to you directly if they have any questions about the submission.
If your campaign has been approved, we will send a confirmation email to all relevant contacts with links to review the program guidelines and upload campaign assets (artist image, tour routing, ticket links, etc.).
Any deviation from our usual review schedule (due to holidays or office closures, for example) will be communicated to you in advance.
What if the timeline of my presale changes after my submission has been approved?
If you need to change the launch date of a campaign after it has already been approved, please let the Fans First team know by replying to the asset creation email thread as soon as possible (ideally at least a week's notice). If your request has been submitted but not yet reviewed, please reach out to our team by replying to the submission confirmation email once you receive it.
Can I submit for more than one campaign for the same territory in the same tour cycle?
As long as the campaigns would be spaced out by a minimum of 1 month, we are able to accommodate multiple legs within the same territory. Campaigns for separate territories do not need to have the 1 month buffer time.
How can we confirm where our artist's music repertoire is owned in the event we need to reach out to the label contact?
When in doubt, check with the artist's label or manager!
